High Fidelity Tape Recorder

This 4 track 2 channel tape recorder was used by Tumbleweed Smith, along with other media recording devices, to capture interviews for his show. A small percentage of Smith’s recordings were in studios, posing a unique challenge for capturing high fidelity audio. Some interviews were done outside, in factories with loud machinery in the background, or in busy shops. The TEAC 1230 was one of the best reel-to-reel recorders in the 1970s, while still being an affordable piece of equipment.
