Hank’s album Seven Decades was one of his favorites. The album had no focus, and Hank was able to incorporate a bunch of old songs he had enjoyed for decades. He said of the record, “It didn’t matter what song we did, and it didn’t have to fit with the one next to it or after it. Just whatever happens. So I was able to go back and pick out some songs that I always wanted to do but there never was a place for it.” The album was seen as representing a “truer Thompson.”
