Hostess House

The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) ran the Rich Field Hostess House. The house had various uses, but one particularly important usage was as the meeting place for commanders and their wives during the quarantine. Entertainment was provided to temporarily distract the soldiers and their families from the reality of being “confined to the post.” The Hostess House, meant for comfort, was said to be the finest at any flying field of the time.
